Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Handwriter ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Handwriter.

1. What Handwriter is

Handwriter is a software tool that turns text you type into images and PDFs styled to look handwritten, using handwriting-style typefaces and computer-generated variation. Every page is generated by a computer from the text you provide. We do not write, check or edit your content, and no person writes anything by hand for you.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms for you.
• An account is for one person. Don't share your sign-in, sell access or let others use your account. An account can be signed in on 2 devices at once; signing in on another device signs out the one used longest ago.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, including accounts shared between several people or created to get free pages repeatedly.

3. Your responsibility for how you use what you create

You alone decide what you write and what you do with the pages Handwriter produces, and you alone are responsible for the consequences. In particular:

• Academic and workplace rules. Many schools, colleges, universities, exam boards and employers require work to be written by hand by the person submitting it, or forbid computer-generated work. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules that apply to you. Handwriter does not know where its pages are used, does not encourage anyone to break those rules, and is not responsible for any academic, disciplinary or other action taken against you because of how you used it.
• No forgery or impersonation. You must not use Handwriter to imitate a specific real person's handwriting or signature, to forge documents, cheques, certificates, prescriptions, wills or official forms, or to deceive anyone in a way that is unlawful or causes harm.
• Lawful content only. You must not use it to create content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, or that infringes anyone's rights, including copyright.
• Your content. You keep all rights to the text you enter and must have the right to use it.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Handwriter and the people who run it against any claim, loss, penalty or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these terms or of any rule, policy or law that applies to you.

4. Prices and payment

• Previews are free. You see every page, watermarked, before you pay.
• Pay per page: ₹5 for each page of a document you unlock to download.
• Pro: ₹150 a month, covering up to 100 pages each month. Pages past that in a month are charged per page. Unused pages don't carry over.
• Welcome pages: a new account gets 2 pages off its first order of 3 or more pages. They have no cash value and can't be used on their own.
• Prices include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by our payment partner (Razorpay); we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
• We may change prices with notice on the website. Changes never affect a purchase you've already made.

5. Pro subscriptions

Pro renews automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel any time from the Plans screen in the app; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. See the Refunds & Cancellation policy.

6. The service

We work to keep Handwriter running and your documents available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or that pages will be accepted by any person or institution. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Keep your own copies of anything important.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Handwriter and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss — including academic penalties, lost marks, lost opportunities, lost data or lost profits — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

8. Intellectual property

The Handwriter software, website and brand belong to us. The handwriting styles are built on openly licensed typefaces (credited on our home page). Pages you download are yours to use, subject to these terms.

9. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app, which deletes your documents. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use Handwriter after a change means you accept it. We'll give notice in the app of any change that materially affects you.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra. Before going to court, please write to us — most problems are solved quickly by email.

12. Contact and grievances
